WHAT CAN YOU GET FUNDING FOR?
All eligible employers who are registered with CITB and up to date with their levy returns can apply for grants including small employers who are not required to pay the levy. The deadline for Levy Returns is 30 November each year.
Grants cannot be paid to individual employees. Speak with your employer and if they are registered with CITB they may be eligible for grant for your training.
CITB offer support to industry through grants and funds. CITB grants cover day to day training and the funds cover specific projects and commissions.

We are an ATO (Approved Training Organization). We are audited annually to hold this approval. This allows us to apply for training and achievement grant on your behalf.
GRANTS AVAILABLE
Grants are for training and qualifications completed in the grants scheme year, 1st of April this year to 31st of March the next year.
| Short qualifications You can apply for between £300 and £1,500 for the achievement of qualifications at Level 2 and above that take less than a year to complete. These include NVQs, Diplomas and the NEBOSH National Certificate in Construction Safety and Health. The grant rates vary depending on which qualification has been achieved. | Short courses You can apply for grant for the achievement of short courses which last from 3 hours to 29 days and are focused on teaching core construction skills. Grant rates for these courses are based on several factors such as duration, intensity, and practical content. Refresher training is payable at half the value of the full course grant. |
| Plant test achievements You can apply for £60 for passing the theory element and Tier 1 – £190, Tier 2 – £240 or Tier 3 – £410, depending on the category of plant, for the practical element of a Construction Plant Competency Scheme (CPCS) technical test. | Receiving payment Money is usually paid within four weeks of an application being made if it is successful. Grants are paid by bank transfer. If we do not hold your current bank details, please complete and submit the secure online Bacs Direct Credit Authorisation Form to receive grant payments. |
